Nothing really major over the past several days (except some very important birthdays of course).Kaitlin is "trying" to walk.....mostly ends in a faceplant but she's giving it her best efforts!
She climbed over the chair and onto the couch herself. Can you see her pride?
She LOOOOOVES crawling all over her sisters chair while she's at school...highlight of her morning on Tues and Thurs!
Nothing exciting about this picture except she's just SO DARN CUTE!!
Friday we started the day off at the park with friends Stephanie and Jeff (with their K9 kiddo Lola) and Steph's sister who was visiting from Minnesotta with her 1 1/2 year old daughter Sydney. The girls (including Lola) had SOOOOO much fun playing with each other and Kellyn was a champ on the monkey bars. Jim taught her how to do a perfect military pullup and she was ALL OVER that! Oh no!
I can't begin to tell you how gorgeous it was on Saturday. Is it REALLY February? WOW!! Anyhow, we took advantage of it and took the kids (furry ones too) to the river for a hike and some water fun.
Jim and his only son.....notice that orange collar on Chase? See below! :-)
Unbeknownst to Chase, we had ulterior motives for bringing him along. Chase has been known to be quite the hard headed learner when it comes to being trained. Perhaps it's the pointer in him....or maybe the 0.0005% brain mass he has. Regardless, he's the sweetest dog in the world and his ONLY goal in life is to please us......if he could just remember what those things are. He pulls on the leash, runs too far ahead and doesn't come back right away, barks while we drive, etc. We've tried ALL kinds of alternative ways to train him but FINALLY have given up and got him the eletronic training collar they use for hunting dogs. I don't feel too bad about it since we truly think Chase is a masochist!
Regardless, I made Jim put the setting on the lowest level possible, but boy was that enough. At
the first moment is was used.....in mid stride he jumped straight up in the air.....all feet off the ground and came running back our sides as if to say "SO SORRY DAD!". So I guess you could call it a success, but I'm sure it will take many more trips to the river for it to really sink into that brain of his!! Good thing he's a sweetheart........makes it impossible for us to hate him!!! Sweet ChaseKaitlin LOOOOOVED her backpack ride. Lucky girl!
Kellyn could have thrown rocks ALL day long! I swear, she's a little boy in a girls suit sometimes!
My little warrior princess, isn't she just too cute?
