Water Logged

This past weekend was slam packed with fun in the water. My mother was in town for a few days, so we dragged her along in all the fun.

First - we ventured out onto the lake for some good ol'fashioned tubing and swimming.

Tryg and Merrick sporting their hats and VERY similar attributes!

Matt was SO brave, out there on the tube all by himself. Jim was right behind him on the Wave Runner ready to rescue if needed. Luckily.....it wasn't required. Then Chris and Merrick joined him for the fun!

Me and Kait having fun in the choppy waters. She just couldn't go fast enough, however, my butt was telling me to slow down. Apparently I don't have as much "cushion" as I thought. :-)

Kellyn and Kaitlin was done watching their cousins have all the fun.....they were ready to ride! With Daddy's strong arms around them, I followed closely behind on the Wave Runner for a rescue that was not needed (whew).

My bro and Tryg just chilling in the tube.

Oh my.....this is scary

Me and my death grip on the girls!

Kellyn and I staring into the sun!

My mother helping Kell and Kait stand on the front of the boat to jump off while we were swimming. There's nothing too high to jump off of in their book. It's just frightening!

Jim helping Matt find the perfect place to jump.

Kids: Don't do this at home (or anywhere else for that matter).

And Yes.........that's Jim chucking his daughter off a cliff to Uncle Chris. I don't know how I kept my composure long enough to take this picture!!!! Needless to say, she LOVED it and swam right over to go again!!! Oh my!

Lisa.....doing what she does best: Feeding the kiddos.

And as if we didn't have enough fun in the water at the lake, we woke up the next morning and headed up the mountain to go rafting down the Truckee River. We met up with Lisa's brother (Todd) and sister-in-law (Delia).

It was more of a float than anything, but that was perfectly fine by me. Last thing I want is major rapids with a 2 and 3 year old (and my mother too). :-)

We stopped many times along the way to not only enjoy the FABULOUS scenery, but the perfect temp waters and yummy picnic we packed. Not to mention the crawdads Delia found and let the kids "pet".

Why does Jim insist on doing these things with our daughter WHILE THE BOAT IS MOVING?? Guess the better question would be........why am I taking the picture??? No wonder she has no fear!

Jim being a show off!

Lisa giving brother #4 a little pat. We can't wait for his arrival in September!

After our float - we headed to Northstar for some awesome pizza and fun. During the summer, they turn the ice rink into a roller skating rink. Kellyn was willing to give it a try (go figure) so a couple of us adults got out there with the brave kids.

Kaitlin in the roller skates was HILARIOUS!! Of course, I'm forced to quote Seinfeld (you guys know me by now) in saying this girl truly does have the "Jimmy Legs". Literally!
Afterwards, we let the kids get out whatever was left in their "energy tank" on the bounce lines. They get all hooked up to these bungee cords and are allowed to jump on big trampolines. It looked sooooooooooooo much fun and they all had a blast. Poor Merrick was NOT happy when he had to get off, it was just adorable!

Even though we loaded them up with ice cream before we left, it didn't stop Kaitlin from passing out COLD in the truck before we even got out of the parking lot. Poor thing was drooling she was so tired! But of course, Kellyn remained wide awake the entire ride home enjoying the peace and quiet which allowed her to play her princess games on her new Leapster II.

All in all.......it was an exhausting but AWESOME weekend! I'm still getting the water out of my ears! :-)
