Pinkalicious

Now that Kellyn is a big ol' 4 year old...........she's decided it's time to start reading US books at bedtime. Grab a hot cocoa and curl up to your very own private rendition of "Pinkalicious" compliments of Ms.Kellyn.

p.s. Please excuse the crying Kaitlin in the background. She was serving an ever so common "time out" during this story. Certainly does add to the ambiance. :-)

p.s.s. My favorite part is the "tippy tippy toes".......i can listen to her saying that all day!

Happy 4th B-Day Kellyn (and ??th for you too Jim)!!!!

I'm still having a hard time grasping the idea that I know have a precious 4 year old. While pouring over old photos, posts, etc.....it becomes even more painfully obvious that this little "baby" of mine is truly growing before our eyes.

Kellyn has blossomed into such a wonderful little lady - one that I feel so privileged not only to have conceived, but to have the opportunity to raise as well. I just wish she would slow down a bit on the whole "growing up" thing.

Tonight, after dinner – Kellyn, Kaitlin and I had a "dance off". I put the TV on the Toddler Music channel and we each took turns dancing solo's while the other 2 watched.

Kaitlin was of course, adorable and crazy Kaitlin......but Kellyn, she was just floating on air. Watching her take such joy in the music - closing her eyes and gliding to the rhythms - it just made me burst into tears and before I knew it...........I was in an all out "ugly cry" with silent facial strains and lots of snot.

When she finally came "out of the music" she looked at me and said "Mommy, why do you have tears coming out of your eyes?”. She crawled into my lap and proceeded to wipe my face dry with her precious little fingers (freshly painted thanks to Joey)………….and that just made it worst.

This little girl – my little baby……….now my amazing 4 year old is something I thank God for every minute of every day.

Cooking up some good stuff......Fireside

So we had my Bro and his family (fabulous in-laws included) over for dinner tonight.....and added the excitement of a bonfire to the mix. It's finally "burn" season in California and so much brush has been cleared on the property that we've been chomping at the bit to burn so tonight was the night.

What is it about boys (or men) and fires...........LARGE fires! There's just no such thing as TOO big or TOO hot...........it's in that "Y" gene. It was so hot even Lisa had to shield herself in order to roast her marshmallow. Girls got her priorities straight........that marshmallow was going to roast one way or another!!!

Either way, it was very entertaining to watch Jim and Dennis (Lisa's dad) feeding that fire.

And the kids.........of course.............LOVED IT!!!!

Even Kait with that nasty green booger hanging from her nose. Nice......

That's what I get for asking -

So me and the girls are in Ohio visiting my Mom (Grammy), Papa Floyd, and MY Grandparents for the weekend.

Tonight during bathtime........My mom and I were sitting there watching the girls be super crazy silly when Kellyn stood up and said "Mommy....you are a silly Moose".

Then I said to her: "Kellyn, you know that a Moose is a big, fat, hairy creature right? You still think Mommy is a Moose?"

And she responded............"Yep"!

Well, I learned my lesson with that one! :-)

Kait + Xena = 1 Stamped Puppy

This is what happens when you leave a 2 year old with a Dora stamp alone with sweet Xena.

We were joined for dinner Friday night by my Bro and his crew, along with Tait and Tatyana and Little Odin.

With much begging - we finally caved in a let the kids have a movie. Here they are all lined up watching "Antz". Even little Mace is in the picture all snug asleep on the floor.
